"Protecting Nutley's Traditions and its Future"

I thank you for taking a moment to visit my website and learn more about me and my candidacy. I am seeking the opportunity to continue to work to keep Nutley the wonderful Township we are all so proud of. On May 8th, Nutley residents will be electing five members to the Nutley Board of Commissioners and I humbly ask that you consider supporting me for one of these seats.

For those who don't know me, I am a lifelong Nutley resident who has spent my entire adult life serving our community. I began my involvement as a first responder and volunteer in various community organizations and later served as your State Assemblyman. I worked my way through the ranks to become the Career Deputy Fire Chief and after retiring, became the Nutley Volunteer Fire Chief.

I have taken an active role in the Nutley Rotary, Nutley Elks, Nutley UNICO, the Bergen and Passaic County 200 Clubs, the Board of the Nutley, Glen Ridge Montclair Red Cross, and as Legislative Committee Co-Chair of the Nutley Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee. I am a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Nutley Hall of Fame Committee, and the Nutley Jaycees Distinguished Service Awards-Judges Committee. Throughout my years of service, I learned much about our Township including its strengths and challenges, and I feel that I can make a positive impact as a member of our Board of Commissioners.

My passion for helping our community led me to seek elected office, and I am thankful for having been voted to the State Assembly where I represented Nutley for seven years, standing up for the residents of our Township and the rest of the district. After leaving the Assembly, I realized the importance of continuing to help represent my community, and ran for the Board of Education, a position I currently hold. I am now seeking to fill a vacated seat on the Board of Commissioners, and once again ask for your support. I am certain that my public service and governmental experience here in Nutley, as well as in Trenton, can help bring a unique prospective to solving the issues that Nutley faces in these difficult economic times.

I am proud and thankful for the faith and trust that you have placed in me and humbly ask for your continued support. If you have any questions or issues that you would like to discuss, please feel free to call me at 862-621-3973, or email me at fjscalera1@gmail.com. Together, we can help Nutley continue to be the thriving community we are all proud of. Thank you and I look forward to seeing all of you along the campaign trail!
